Takoda Berry Is Quietly Becoming a Key Piece of Clemson Gymnastics
When Clemson launched its gymnastics program in 2024, every athlete on the roster had the opportunity to help build something from the ground up. For Takoda Berry, that journey has been all about steady growth, patience, and making the most of every opportunity.
The Newport Beach, California native arrived at Clemson with an impressive résumé after training at Coastal Gymnastics. A two-time national qualifier, eight-time bars champion, and two-time U.S. Developmental Team member, Berry was already known for her elegant work on the uneven bars before putting on a Tigers leotard.
After spending her freshman season as part of Clemson’s historic inaugural squad, Berry took a significant step forward during her sophomore campaign. She became a regular contributor on bars, appearing in 12 meets while also making a floor appearance during the NCAA Regional Second Round.
Her biggest breakthrough came early in the season when she captured her first collegiate event title on bars at Pitt with a 9.825. Just a few weeks later, she raised the bar again by posting a career-best 9.875 against Stanford, showing the consistency and confidence that coaches love to see.
What makes Berry such an exciting gymnast to watch is her clean technique. Bars is an event where precision matters just as much as difficulty, and she continues to prove she can deliver polished routines under pressure.
