Brynn Torry: Auburn’s Powerful Freshman Ready to Make Her Mark
Every recruiting class has an athlete that makes fans stop and take notice, and for Auburn Gymnastics, Brynn Torry fits that description perfectly.
Coming to the Plains from Yorktown, Virginia, Torry arrived with an impressive résumé after spending two years competing at the senior elite level. She qualified for some of the biggest meets in American gymnastics, including the 2024 U.S. Championships, where she finished sixth on vault, proving she has the explosive power needed to compete against the nation’s best.
She also impressed at the Core Hydration Classic, showcasing her all-around ability with a top-10 finish on bars and in the all-around.
Auburn head coach Jeff Graba described Torry as “one of the most powerful athletes” he had ever recruited, believing she had the potential to contribute on every event from the moment she stepped onto campus. That’s high praise, but it reflects the confidence the coaching staff has in her athleticism and competitive mindset.
During her freshman NCAA season, Torry quickly showed she belonged.
She earned regular opportunities on vault, highlighted by a career-best 9.900 performance on the road at Oklahoma. She also delivered several consistent scores throughout the season, demonstrating that she can be counted on in pressure situations.
Away from the competition floor, Torry has embraced everything Auburn has to offer. She has spoken about falling in love with the campus atmosphere during her first visit and enjoys the team-first culture that makes NCAA gymnastics so special. An Exercise Science major with aspirations of becoming a physical therapist, she balances her athletic ambitions with equally impressive goals in the classroom.
What makes Brynn Torry especially exciting is that she’s only getting started. With elite-level experience, outstanding power, and a growing confidence in the college game, she has all the ingredients to become a fan favourite at Neville Arena for years to come.
As Auburn continues building toward SEC and NCAA success, don’t be surprised if Brynn Torry becomes one of the Tigers’ biggest stars. The future looks incredibly bright.
