Kalea McElligott Ready to Soak Up Every Moment of Her Senior Season at Penn State
Somehow, it’s already time for Kalea McElligott’s senior season.
It feels like only yesterday she arrived in Happy Valley, ready to begin her journey with Penn State Gymnastics. Fast forward four years, and she’s now one of the experienced leaders on a Nittany Lions squad looking to make plenty of noise in 2027.
Senior seasons are always a little different. Every practice, every road trip, every salute to the judges becomes a “last first” or a “last time.” While that can sound a little emotional, it’s also a reminder to enjoy every moment—and there’s no doubt McElligott will be doing exactly that.
Throughout her career, she has brought consistency, determination, and a team-first attitude whenever called upon. Whether competing under the bright lights or cheering just as loudly from the sidelines, she’s been the kind of teammate every program values.
Now comes the final chapter.
With years of NCAA experience behind her, McElligott has the opportunity to compete with confidence, help guide the younger gymnasts, and enjoy everything that makes college gymnastics so special. The pressure of proving herself has been replaced by the chance to simply embrace the journey.
Penn State fans will undoubtedly be cheering her on every step of the way, hoping to see plenty of memorable routines and maybe even a few career-best performances before the curtain falls on her collegiate career.
One thing is certain: senior seasons have a way of flying by.
